CSA Info & Pricing
The cost of a share for the 20 week season is $400 +3% WV sales tax. You have the choice of letting us select the contents of the weekly box -the Farmer's Choice share- as is typical of most other CSAs, or signing in to our online produce stand to substitute items and create a custom box. Buying a CSA share gives you a volume discount. Our goal is to provide enough produce over the course of the season so that the share price represents at least a 10% discount over what you would have payed if you had bought the same produce from us each week at the Farmer's Market. The farmer's choice share provides 6 -10 items per week and seeks to provide as much diversity as possible throughout the season. We balance this by providing the most popular items more often, while making sure to include unique items, or items that may be new to you, at least once during the season. Some people enjoy the surprise and culinary challenge each week of letting us choose what goes in their produce delivery, while others know exactly what they want and will customize their box accordingly online. For bigger families, or on special occasions, when you might need more vegetables than a regular share provides, signing into the online produce stand will allow you to order any additional items you might need.
More Great Food
We also feature Firefly Farms selection of goat cheeses, free-range eggs from Locust Knoll farm, and fresh bread from the New Day Bakery. These delicious items are now available through our CSA. We've chosen these local producers because their superior quality food is a great accompaniment to our farm-fresh produce.- Bread and goat cheese will be available for purchase online and will be delivered with your CSA box.
- For Locust Knoll eggs, we offer an egg share which provides a dozen eggs a week for 20 weeks and is delivered with your regular CSA share. The cost of an egg share is $50 + 3% WV sales tax ($2.50 a dozen +tax).
Produce Delivery & Pickup
Our CSA deliveries will start at the beginning of June, give or take a couple weeks. We plan to have 20 delivery weeks. Your CSA box can be picked up on Wednesdays 3:30pm - 7:30pm at a location near you. We are looking to offer more delivery points, so please let us know if you are interested in having your home or business be a new location. Our five current West Virginia delivery points are:
- Morgantown, WV- on Louise Ave.
- Morgantown, WV- at the New Day Bakery in South Park
- Cheat Lake, WV- on Lakeview Dr.
- Bruceton Mills, WV- on Rt 26 about a mile north of the junction with I68
- Round Right Farm in Cranesville, WV
Payment
For the CSA share, a $50 deposit reserves your spot and the balance of $350 +WV sales tax is due by May 15th. Pay in full by March 15th and receive a $10 discount!
For egg shares, the full amount of $50 +3% WV sales tax is due at the time of sign-up.
We also encourage those who are planning to purchase cheese, bread or additional veggies through the website to prepay and establish a balance that we will draw from for these purchases. Prepayment means less time in the office for us and additional savings for you. Prepay $50 and receive $2 worth of free produce. Prepay $100 and receive $5 dollars worth of free produce. Money in your account can always be withdrawn at your request and any amount left over at the end of the season will be refunded. If you prefer not to prepay, no problem. We will bill you when your total reaches $50 or at the end of the season, whichever comes first.
